1. Introduction

Mediatician ("we", "us", "our") operates the website mediatician.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and profile picture when you sign up or log in via Google.
  • Content: Videos, images, captions, and other content you create or upload through the Service.
  • Social Media Tokens: When you connect your TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Facebook Page accounts, we securely store authentication tokens to publish content on your behalf.
  • Audio and Transcripts: When you use automatic captions or voice input, the sound from your video or microphone is sent to OpenAI to be transcribed, and the resulting text is stored with your video.
  • AI-Generated Content: Scripts, captions, hashtags, ideas, analysis and generated music produced for you, kept with your account so you can come back to them.
  • Camera, Microphone and Photos: Used only while you are filming, recording or choosing a file. Nothing is captured in the background, and access can be withdrawn in your device settings.
  • Purchase History: Your plan, the dates it ran, and the payment processor's identifiers for it. We never see or store card details.
  • Device Token (iPhone app): If you allow notifications, Apple issues a token for your device which we store against your account and delete when you sign out.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited and features used.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service
  • To publish content to your connected social media accounts at your request
  • To display your connected account information (username, profile picture) within the Service
  • To generate AI-powered content suggestions and video analysis
  • To improve the Service and develop new features
  • To communicate with you about your account or the Service

4. Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following third-party services:

  • TikTok: We use TikTok's Content Posting API to publish videos to your TikTok account. We access your basic profile information and video upload capabilities. You can revoke access at any time in your TikTok settings or in Mediatician settings.
  • Instagram / Meta: We use Instagram Graph API to publish Reels to your Instagram account. We access your basic profile and content publishing capabilities. You can revoke access at any time.
  • YouTube: We use YouTube Data API to upload videos to your YouTube channel. You can revoke access at any time.
  • Facebook Pages (Meta): If you connect a Facebook Page, we publish Reels to it on your behalf. You can revoke access at any time.
  • Google: Two separate things. Google OAuth signs you in on the website. Google Lyria generates music — when you ask for a track, the words describing it are sent to Google.
  • Cloudflare R2: We use Cloudflare R2 for secure video file storage.
  • OpenAI: Used for content suggestions, video analysis and audio transcription. The sound from your videos and your voice recordings are sent to OpenAI to be turned into text.
  • Anthropic (Claude): Used for content ideas, suggestions and video analysis. The text and details of your videos are sent to Anthropic for that purpose.
  • Resend: Sends our transactional email — sign-in codes, failed-post alerts and reminders. Receives your email address only.
  • Stripe: Processes payments made on the website. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • Apple: Processes subscriptions bought inside the iPhone app, and delivers push notifications. Apple does not share your payment details with us.

5. Your Content and AI

AI features send your content to the providers named above — OpenAI for transcription and suggestions, Anthropic for ideas and analysis, Google Lyria for generated music. We ask for your permission before any of it is used for the first time, and you can decline and keep using everything else. Your content is sent only to produce the result you asked for — a transcript, a caption, an idea, an analysis. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Social media authentication tokens are encrypted and stored in our database. Video files are stored on Cloudflare R2 with access controls. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete a video from your library, it is removed from our storage. When you disconnect a social media account, we delete the associated authentication tokens. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Disconnect your social media accounts at any time
  • Export your content
  • Withdraw consent for data processing

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We do not use advertising cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
